Goodbye Car

Every morning Denny wakes me up, and kisses me before he leaves for work. Today he woke me up twice, and it kind of disoriented me.

"I got in a car accident. I'm perfectly fine, but the car is totaled."

"...What?" (It is important to understand that I'm not good with accidents. I panic when we slide on ice.)

"I was on the freeway and hydroplaned into a semi, then flipped over the median." (My brain didn't catch the flipped bit.)

As ridiculous as it is, I couldn't stop thinking of everything that could have gone wrong. Just yesterday I was worrying that we don't have life insurance.

"Hun, I'm fine."

I start crying.

"Really I'm fine."

I get a hold of myself, and realize he actually is ok.

"The car might be drivable if I didn't flip, but it broke the hood. We'll be getting a new one."

"...YOU FLIPPED OVER?!" Panic once more.

"It's ok."

We've both been abusing that car for the past few years, but now it is dead. Denny is off getting a rental car at the moment, and we should be getting the info on our car by tomorrow.

I have yet to see the car, but when we go get our stuff out of it, I'll be sure to take a picture.

Wow. Thank goodness Denny is alright. That's scary.

On that note, we're currently getting life insurance. I was surprised how little it would be monthly. I realized that if Curtis died, I would be absolutely SOL. If you want, I can give you the name of my insurance guy.
