Careful

When you are a child and horrible things happen to you, you don't really know how to feel. I was looking at the new PostSecrets just now, and this one depicts it perfectly. I experienced some things that no little kid should ever have to go through. Now as a mommy, I pray every single day that my babies won't ever have anything like that happen to them.

Lower in the post I read this secret. After years of therapy, I can agree with that statement completely. "I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become."

1 in 4 girls are sexually victimized before 18.
Most offenders are someone the child knows and trusts.

Be careful with your kids. Some things can't be undone.

Going to be MIA

I am in the process of refashioning a TON of Sophie's old clothes, so that they will be wearable for this summer. I'm probably going to be doing it for the entire coming week... or month (I procrastinate... what can I say)

Anyways, most of my posts will probably be going over on my craft blog. If you want to see just how adorable the clothes turn out, and how to do it yourself. THEN HEAD ON OVER!

If not, suck it up for a week or two.

Infinate Love

My awesome sister-in-law sent me an email a week or two ago. It was a Daily Gem from the church website. I loved it so much I couldn't delete it. I think I'll print it out on pretty scrapbook paper and frame it.

Just wanted to share.

"Think of the purest, most all-consuming love you can imagine. Now multiply that love by an infinate amount, that is the measure of God's love for you. God does not look on the outward appearance (1 Samuel 16:7). I believe that He doesn't care one bit if we live in a castle or a cottange, if we are handsome or homely, if we are famous or forgotten. Though we are incomplete, God loves us completely. Though we are imperfect, He loves us perfecty. Though we may feel lost and without compass, God's love encompasses us completely."

My New Love

She came in the mail Tuesday. Instead of getting this big fancy $1000 camera I wanted, I settled on a refurbished, older model. I'm still happy as a clam, because this was the original model that I wanted. (they don't make new ones anymore) I love it so much!

With my new camera, comes an urge to photograph EVERYTHING. Prepare to be bombarded with photographs.

Paranoid

Sooooooo... thanks to some girlfriends in a photography forum, I realized just how easy it is to crop out a logo at bottom of a picture. I generally like to think the best of people, but let's face it - our society has a one way ticket to Hell.

Since I'm one of those people who doesn't want pictures of my baby girl (and or anyone else I post) ending up on oh.... a child pornography site - I will now be watermarking EVERYTHING. Plus, all the pictures I have linked will be locked only for private view.

So if you absoloutly HAVE to have some pictures without watermarks, I can email them to you. Otherwise, say bye bye to all the past pictures.

Love you all.

Crafting!

While the past few weeks I ignored my blogs because I was depressed, now I do it because I'm crafting!
My new sewing machine.
About $100 in adorable fabrics.

The outcome?

DRESSES FOR STINKY!
Granted both of these dresses were up-cycled from my old shirts. So don't feel to ignored, it isn't personal. I just like crafting more than most of you. :P

PS if anyone has a bunch of old tshirts they don't want, I'd love them. Please and thank you! And if anyone has a little girl, I'd totally make you a dress as exchange for a bunch of shirts!

Valentine's Day Dance

Saturday evening we hit up a dance at my grandparents' church. We had a spaghetti dinner, Papa played his guitar and sang to the ladies, and we danced. Sadly, it was a combined ward dance... so all the gringos were there. Boooo!
We had a bunch of fun. Sophie slept for a good hour of it, even with the music as loud as could be. Then Denny and I actually danced for the first time - ever. Keep in mind that the place was horribly lit, and my little flash only goes about 5 feet.

To The Park!

Yesterday morning (well more like afternoon), Sophie and I were plopped on the couch. My friend, Claire, sent a text asking of we wanted to go to the duckie park. Anyone who knows me, knows that I adore the duckie park.
Even though it was a bit chilly, we had fun. With it being winter, and having one car, we rarely get to go out and about. I often feel bad for not getting her out to see other kids more. She had lots of fun with Dea. Isn't Dea just adorable?
Most of you probably don't know Claire, she's a swell gal. She is all about the natural parenting, which I love. In case you are one of the many people who don't really know what that is, you are missing out. Cloth diapering, co-sleeping (having your child in your bed), breastfeeding ... in public *gasp* and the list goes on. If you are interested in such things, visit her blog.

Denny's 22nd Bday

For Denny's family birthday dinner, we went to TGIF. Notice how there are two of Denny's heads in the picture... he screwed up my panoramic picture. He does, however, find it hilarious.

Happy birthday to the pain in my butt. :)
