A Career

In high school, I had life planned out.

Graduate
College
Med school
OBGYN
Family
Babies

In that order.
So much for that.

After getting pregnant and having Sophie, I no longer liked the idea of being an OBGYN anyways. The birth experience was lame, not special, and sort of traumatizing.

I got smarter with Mya. We switched to a Midwife, and had a more enjoyable experience all around. I would have loved to be in a birth center instead, but halfway through the pregnancy, we weren't prepared for the costs. :/

Some point in the last few weeks, something clicked. I've always wanted to birth babies. I love midwives. Why not be one?

Everytime I've looked into schooling for other career options, I would instantly get depressed. The time away from my family, and the ridiculous amount of money just seemed impossible. I looked up Midwifery anyways.

:)

Game plan:
become a doula
then
a midwife

Luckily I have had several very sweet ladies help me out so far.
And as always, Denny supports me completely.

I already have a scholarship through a doula organization, so off I go!

The Zoo!

I try to take Sophie to the zoo at least once a year.
This year we went with our friends Steve & Jaimie.
(who happen to be super awesome zoo members)

Sophie is in love with Steve.
Every time we are going somewhere, Sophie asks "is Steve coming too?"
I was making corn the other day, "mom, Steve likes corn too, is he coming to dinner?"
You get the picture.
95% of her zoo trip, was spent glued to Steve.

The children also had much fun at the zoo.

Remember the pregnant elephant from last year? Totally had her little baby.
Elephants are pregnant for 22 months..... pass.

Lastly, the train ride.
It started raining about 30 seconds before we got on the train.
Because the train is awesome, it lost traction, and we got stuck.
Train fail.

Much fun was had. :)

Labor Day

Our Labor Day weekend was pretty nice (aside from the fact that the girls got colds).

The girls and I played outside, while Denny grilled up some dinner.
Sophie took over 300 pictures.

After dinner, we made smores :)

Preschool!

Sophie started preschool last week! She absolutely loves it.

We woke up and had breakfast. She asked me do her hair "fancy."

We packed up her snack, and put it in her new backpack.

And off we went!

The preschool is held just down the road, which I love. Our Primary President is actually the one running it. So she is with all of her friends from primary. :)

When we got home, she told me ALL about it.
These are the things she made her first day.
I love the playdoh cupcake.

She very much loves preschool, and is so excited every time she goes.
