About Monday I started to feel sick in the mornings, and decided to take a pregnancy test on Sunday (Mother's Day.) I couldn't hold out. Last night I ran out and got 4 dollar store tests to hold me over until the weekend. (yes all the tests are just as accurate, it costs literally pennies to make a preggo test, they just like to rip us off)
Today, which is day 34 of my cycle, I crawled out of bed around 8:30 this morning. I pulled out my test and sat down for the 3 minute wait. The little pink line showed, it was faint, but it was there. Just to be sure, I pulled out another test. Another pink little line came up.
In my euphoric happiness, I ran to wake Denny up (who had stayed home from work). I climbed on top of him and started bouncing on the bed.
Me - "Guess what?!?!?"
Denny - *groan* "What?"
Me - "I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant!"
Denny - *more groans* "Headache. Bouncing not good."
Me - "Pregnancy good."
I refused to let his annoying lack of enthusiasm bring down my high. Instead, I went to tell people who would be able to appreciate the situation. My cloth diapering group on CafeMom. :) Sure enough, within 2 hours I had over 60 congratulations.
Eventually Denny did get up (around 2) and apologize for not being excited. I guess I'll forgive him, I'll just have to tell the kid that their dad wasn't excited for them. :P
The due date will be Jan 7th. This means that this is the 2nd time I've gotten pregnant within days of my birthday. We are going to be so poor the first 6 months of every year. Christmas, Sophie's birthday, 2nd baby's birthday, Denny's birthday, my birthday, mother's day, anniversary, and fathers day. Awesome.
So here we go with the horrible ride of pregnancy. At least this time I'm braced for the insane sickness. Wish me luck!
